A new 42,000 sq. ft. nursing home in Suttons Bay, Michigan. We joined one other crew this past winter to build this. We began in October and wrapped up in April. The two crews provided all the framing labor from ground up and set every window.
As you can see, the project is still under construction in the finishing phase. The interior of the structure has two courtyards for the privacy of the patients as they enjoy the outdoors. Each of the four corners of the structure has a beautiful entryway like this. The building has many unique gables that make the exterior face interesting and the interior structure "cut up".
Each of the patient's rooms has it's own large window. The entire structure is a large square with an interior corridor between the two interior courtyards. The interior corridor is lined with patient rooms that face into the courtyard as well. The open areas created between the many gables provide privacy for the patients.
